Artone College (KGCE Program)

SMARTONE FOUNDATION is partnering with ARTONE School in Kerala to develop an Art Teacher Development Program that identifies, trains, and empowers talented individuals from local and tribal communities to become skilled art educators.

ARTONE is currently the only institution in the Wayanad region offering the KGCE program, a government-recognized certification that prepares students to become professional art teachers. Through this unique collaboration, SMARTONE is expanding access to this opportunity and strengthening its impact across underserved communities.

This initiative creates meaningful pathways for young people to transform their creative talents into sustainable careers, while simultaneously enhancing the quality of education in rural and marginalized areas. By nurturing local talent and placing trained art teachers within schools, the program makes learning more engaging, inclusive, and culturally relevant.

At the same time, the program directly supports families—especially within tribal communities—by improving access to inspiring education, reducing school dropout rates, and fostering a stronger connection between students and their learning environment.

Weekend Classes for Artone institute

SMARTONE FOUNDATION supports ARTONE Institute in offering weekend art and craft classes for local students by providing essential materials, resources, and trained teachers. These sessions create a safe, creative space where children can explore their imagination, build confidence, and engage in meaningful, hands-on learning beyond the traditional classroom.

The program plays a vital role in addressing common challenges faced by young learners today. Through structured art-based activities, students are able to overcome learning difficulties, improve focus and cognitive development, and reduce excessive screen time. Art becomes a powerful tool for expression, emotional balance, and deeper engagement with learning.

SMARTONE FOUNDATION introduces hands-on gardening programs for school children, helping them reconnect with nature through direct experience with plants and the environment.

Yoga and Meditation classes in Nepal

SMARTONE FOUNDATION is expanding its holistic education initiatives through a partnership with Laxman Panthi to offer yoga and meditation programs for schools, orphanages, and ashrams in Nepal.

This initiative is designed to bring the benefits of yoga, mindfulness, and basic physical exercise to children and families who often have limited access to structured wellness education. Through regular sessions, students are introduced to simple yoga practices, breathing techniques, stretching routines, and meditation, helping them build physical strength, flexibility, and overall well-being.

Beyond physical health, the program places strong emphasis on mental and emotional balance. Many children in orphanages and underserved communities face stress, uncertainty, and emotional challenges.
